Are you looking for an SUV that has both history and accolades? Then look no further than the 2021 Ford Expedition! This vehicle's been around ever since 1996 and has won numerous awards, such as the 2010 AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Award (for large SUVs) and the 2012 J.D. Power award.

Not only that, but the Expedition is also Ford's largest SUV. So for those of you who love driving big cars, this is probably the perfect one for you.

For a closer look at the 2021 Ford Expedition, read on. We'll give you an excellent Ford Expedition overview below!

The Trims

What's great is you'll get 5 trim choices: XL STX, XLT, Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum. They all come standard with a twin-turbocharged V6 engine that's paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. If you want, you can upgrade from rear-wheel drive to 4-wheel drive for just a little extra.

So what do you get with each trim? Keep reading to find out!

Out of all the trims, this one is the only one that has 2 rows of seats. All the others have 3.

You'll be pleased to know that the base XL STX trim comes with many standard features. For example, you'll get alloy wheels, an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat, and tri-zone automatic climate control.

The standard infotainment system is great too! It has an 8-inch touchscreen, wifi hotspot, 4 USB ports, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.

The best thing about the XL STX trim is despite being the base trim, it already comes with Ford's Co-Pilot360 safety suite. It includes a rearview camera, automatic high beam headlights, blindspot monitoring, lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and pre-collision warning and braking system.

For those of you who opt for 4-wheel drive, you can also add a limited-slip differential.

XLT Trim

As we've said above, all other trims besides the XL STX come with 3 rows of seats. The third row is power-folding, which adds to your convenience.

Other standard features that come with the XLT trim include an auto-dimming rearview mirror, rear parking sensors, and satellite radio.

If you want more out of this trim, there are plenty of upgrades available here. There are the 201A and 202A packages, which give you features like ActiveX synthetic leather upholstery, 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, power-folding second row of seats, remote start, a heated steering wheel, and a power liftgate.

With the 202A package specifically, you can opt for Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist. This will give you an 8-inch digital driver display, adaptive cruise control, and navigation.

Other upgrades include second-row captain's chairs and a panoramic sunroof.

Limited Trim

Remember all the goodies you get with the 202A package? Well, you'll gain all of that with the Limited trim, including Co-Pilot360 Assist!

But that's not all you'll get with this trim either. You'll enjoy rain-sensing windshield wipers, leather upholstery in the first 2 rows of seats, heated second-row seats, front parking sensors, and a hands-free, foot-activated liftgate.

The infotainment system gets better features too! You'll benefit from wireless device charging, 2 additional USB ports, HD radio, and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.

If you want even more with the Limited trim, you can add the 302A package. This gives you park assist, a surround-view parking camera system, and a panoramic sunroof. An extra to this package you can get is a continuous damping suspension and the second-row captain's chairs.

King Ranch Trim

Next, we have the King Ranch trim. This trim comes standard with everything you'll find in the 302A package.

You'll also get to enjoy some upgraded leather upholstery that'll make every ride feel like a dream. For the drivers who place an emphasis on the aesthetics of their vehicles, you'll be pleased to know that the King Ranch trim comes with gray accents, as well as unique styling enhancements both on the inside and outside.

Some optional upgrades you can get with this Ford Expedition are the limited-slip differential and damping suspension.

Platinum Trim

Last on our list is the Platinum trim. As you'd expect from the top trim, you can get pretty much everything you can imagine; that is, within reason, of course!

Basically, everything from the lower trims come standard here. You'll also get an adaptive suspension, a panoramic roof, and multi-contour massaging front seats.

You'll also get a slightly more powerful engine here. The Platinum trim comes with a V6 EcoBoost engine that gives you an extra 25 HP over the base engine.

Gas Mileage

One thing on every car owner's mind is fuel efficiency. After all, just a few miles' difference can make a huge dent in what you're paying for gas!

Despite being an SUV, the 2021 Ford Expedition gets outstanding gas mileage. With rear-wheel drive, you'll get 17 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway. If you upgrade to 4-wheel drive, that'll drop to 17 MPG in the city and 22 MPG on the highway, which isn't a huge difference.

Most people prefer to go off-roading in trucks, but it's definitely possible with SUVs too! So if you prefer to go off-roading in an SUV, then you'll be happy to learn that the 2021 Ford Expedition is good for that!

Drivers have the option of adding the FX4 Off-Road package. This gives you a limited-slip differential, skid plates, and off-road-tuned shocks.

Also, bear in mind that this vehicle has 9.8 inches of ground clearance, which is superb.
